You will have journal entries sometimes once a week.  When given this assignment, your entry will be graded accordingly:

Entry is 1 1/3 of a page complete.

Entry is 1 page complete.

Entry is 2/3 of a page complete.

Entry is 1/3 of a page complete.

Grammar and Spelling

Entry has no misspellings or grammatical errors

Entry has no more than two misspellings and/or grammatical errors.

Entry has three misspellings and/or grammatical errors.

 

Entry has four or more spelling errors and/or grammatical errors.

 

Relation to Prompt Given.

Entry related solely to the prompt given.

Entry predominantly related to the prompt given.

Entry touched upon the prompt given.

Entry did not relate to the prompt given.

Neatness

Entry is neatly done.

Entry has one or two areas that are sloppy.

Entry has three or four areas that are sloppy.

Entry is illegible.

Followed Directions

Entry is written in blue or black ink.

 

Entry is not written in blue or black ink.

 

 

All journal entries are HOMEWORK!!  You will not have class time to write your entry.  Remember, entries are 25% of your final grade. 

 

 

9TH gRADE eNTRIES

#2  - How do you view death?  What are your family's rituals and traditions in regards to a death?

#4- How many time do you look in the mirror in a day?  Why do you or we, as a society, focus so much on physical appearance?  Can a good looking person be dishonest and rude?  Can an ugly perrson be good and honest?

#5 - In Class Write - What kind of traps do teenagers find themselves in?  How can they get out of these traps?  How ccan they avoid getting into traps altogether?

#6 - What is your reaction to the Scottsboro Boys Trial?

#7 - Write about your first day of school as young as you can remember.
